I’m not heading to Philly, but if all goes well, the namesake of this blog will be making a trek and suiting up for the big club in no time. The Phillies signed Trevor Plouffe and I am about a 9 out of 10 on the happiness scale – the only thing better would be him playing closer to (or *in*) Minnesota.
Everyone else has been all “Machado!”-this and “Harper!”-that, but I’ve been waiting for this news above all other free agent signings. No, seriously. Now let’s just hope I get another shot (or ten) to see The Plouffe slap a couple dingers.
In other news, I am getting more and more excited for this Miami trip. I’ve found a park in the Miami area that grows a bunch of fruit… WHICH YOU CAN TASTE TEST! Tropical and rare fruit like papaya, gamboge, ceylon gooseberry, mulberry, mysore raspberry, cas guava, surinam cherry, and likely many more. Look for some photos on my Instagram, videos on YouTube, and probably a nice write-up on this page in the future.
But before I get too far ahead of myself, I also have a birthday bash at Target Field to look forward to. I cannot believe my luck – Opening Day on my actual birthday, only 4 balls short of 1000, and on the year when I complete “all thirty stadiums”.
